accord. to [some of] the copies of the K زَكْوٌ,
(TA,) It increased, or augmented; (S, Msb, K,
TA;) it received increase and blessing from God;
it throve by the blessing of God; (Er-Rághib,
TA;) and produced fruit; (TA in art. زكى;)
and زَكِىَ, (K in that art.,) aor. يَزْكَى, inf. n.
زَكَاةٌ, (TA in that art.,) signifies the same, (K, TA,)

(Msb, K;) and ↓ تزكّى: (K in art. زكى:) it is said
of seed-produce, (S, Msb, Er-Rághib, TA,) and of
wealth, or cattle &c., and of other things: of anything that increases, or augments, one says يَزْكُو,
inf. n. زَكَآءٌ. (TA.) [This is the primary meaning: or, accord. to some, the primary meaning is,
It was, or became, pure:] some say that the root
denotes purity: and some, that it denotes a state
of increase, or augmentation. (Mgh.) You say
also زَكَتِ الأَرْضُ The land throve, or yielded
increase. (Msb.) And زَكَا الغُلَامُ [The boy grew,
or throve], inf. n. زُكُوٌّ and زَكَآءٌ, on the authority
of Akh. (S.) And زَكَا عَمَلُهُ (assumed tropical:) [His deed, or
work, throve]. (K in art. در.) It is said in a
trad. of 'Alee, المَالُ تَنْقُصُهُ النَّفَقَةُ وَالعِلْمُ يَزْكُو عَلَى
الإِنْفَاقِ (assumed tropical:) [Wealth, what one expends diminishes it,
but knowledge increases by expending]: زَكَآء being
thus predicated of knowledge, though this is not a
corporeal thing. (TA.) Accord. to El-Umawee,
(S,) said of a man, زَكَا, (S, K,) aor. يَزْكُو, inf. n.
زُكُوٌّ, (S,) means He enjoyed, or led, a plentiful,
and a pleasant or an easy, and a soft or delicate,
life; (S, K;) was in a state of abundance of the
goods, conveniences, or comforts, of life. (S.)
And likewise said of a man, (having the same
aor. and inf. n., TA,) it means also He was, or
became, good, or righteous; (Jel in xxiv. 21,
Msb, K, TA;) and pure from sin. (Jel ibid.)
[Hence,] هٰذَا الأَمْرُ لَا يَزْكُو بِفُلَانٍ means This
thing, or affair, will not be suitable to such a
one; will not befit him. (S.)

And no burdened soul can bear the burden of another; and if a heavily laden soul call another to bear its load, naught of it shall be carried by the other, even though he be a kinsman. Thou canst warn only those who fear their Lord in secret and observe Prayer. And whoso purifies himself, purifies himself only to his own advantage; and to Allah shall be the return.

اور کوئی بوجھ اٹھانے والی (جان) کسی دوسری کا بوجھ نہیں اٹھائے گی اور اگر کوئی بوجھ سے لدی ہوئی اپنے بوجھ کی طرف بلائے گی تو اس (کے بوجھ میں) سے کچھ بھی نہ اٹھایا جائے گا خواہ وہ قریبی ہی کیوں نہ ہو۔ تُو صرف ان لوگوں کو ڈرا سکتا ہے جو اپنے ربّ سے اس کے غیب میں ہونے کے باوجود ترساں رہتے ہیں اور نماز کو قائم کرتے ہیں۔ اور جو بھی پاکیزگی اختیار کرے تو اپنے ہی نفس کی خاطر پاکیزگی اختیار کرتا ہے اور اللہ کی طرف ہی آخری ٹھکانا ہے۔
French
Et aucune âme porteuse de fardeau ne peut porter le fardeau d’une autre ; et si une âme lourdement chargée appelle une autre pour porter sa charge, aucune partie n’en sera portée par l’autre, même si c’est un parent proche. Tu ne peux avertir que ceux qui craignent en secret leur Seigneur, et observent la Prière. Et quiconque se purifie, ne se purifie qu'à son propre avantage ; et c’est auprès d’Allāh que sera la destination finale.

Und keine Lasttragende kann die Last einer anderen tragen; und wenn eine Schwerbeladene um (Erleichterung) ihrer Last ruft, nichts davon soll getragen werden, und wäre es auch ein Verwandter. Du kannst die allein warnen, die ihren Herrn im Geheimen fürchten und das Gebet verrichten. Und wer sich reinigt, der reinigt sich nur zu seinem eigenen Vorteil; und zu Allah soll die Heimkehr sein.

Sólo puedes amonestar a quienes temen a su Señor en secreto y cumplen la Oración. Pues quien alcanza la pureza, alcanza la pureza para su propio bien; y a Al‑lah será el retorno.

اور کوئی بوجھ اٹھانے والی جان دوسرے کا بوجھ نہیں اٹھا سکتی اور اگر کوئی بوجھ سے دبا ہوا اپنے بوجھ کے اٹھانے کے لئے کسی کو پکارے تو اس کا ذرا سا بھی بوجھ نہیں اٹھایا جائے گا خواہ وہ کتنا ہی قریبی کیوں نہ ہو تو تو صرف ان لوگوں کو ہوشیار کرتا ہے جو اپنے رب سے علیحدگی میں بھی ڈرتے ہیں اور نمازیں (باشرائط) ادا کرتے ہیں اور جو شخص پاک ہوتا ہے وہ صرف اپنی جان کے فائدہ کے لئے پاک ہوتا ہے اور آخرکارسب کو اللہ ہی کی طرف لوٹ کر جانا ہے۔

مثقلة (heavily laden soul) is derived from ثقل which means, it was or became heavy, weighty or ponderous; it was or became heavy, weighty or preponderant ideally; he was or became slow, lazy, wanting in activity or intelligence. ثقلت المرأةmeans, her pregnancy became apparent. أثقله means, he overburdened him. مثقل of which مثقلة is feminine gender means, heavily burdened or burdened beyond his power; overburdened; weighed down or oppressed by disease, debt, etc. (Lane & Aqrab). See also 4:41.
Commentary:
The word وزر may here signify the burden of duty or responsibility; or it may mean the remorse or shame which a person feels when he commits a sin or crime. Taking it in the first sense, the expression لا تزر وازرة وزر أخری would mean that the personal duty or responsibility of one person cannot be shifted to, or discharged by another. Everyone has to carry his own cross. Taking the word in the second sense the expression cuts at the root of the doctrine of Atonement on which the whole fabric of Christianity stands. The verse purports to say that no person can relieve any other person of his grief or sorrow, nor can he share with him the remorse or regret that afflicts his conscience after he has committed a crime. Evidently as these feelings have their origin in the heart of man, they cannot be transferred to or shared by another person. The punishments of Hell are only the spiritual embodiments of man’s evil actions done in this life and the person who committed the evil deeds quite clearly will not share these spiritual embodiments of his actions with another person who had not committed those evil deeds.

No soul laden bears the load of another; and if one heavy-burdened calls for its load to be carried, not a thing of it will be carried, though he be a near kinsman. Thou warnest only those who fear their Lord in the Unseen and perform the prayer; and whosoever purifies himself, purifies himself only for his own soul's good. To God is the homecoming.
