عَسَىٰ رَبُّهُۥٓ إِن طَلَّقَكُنَّ أَن يُبْدِلَهُۥٓ أَزْوَٰجًا خَيْرًا مِّنكُنَّ مُسْلِمَٰتٍ مُّؤْمِنَٰتٍ قَٰنِتَٰتٍ تَٰٓئِبَٰتٍ عَٰبِدَٰتٍ سَٰٓئِحَٰتٍ ثَيِّبَٰتٍ وَأَبْكَارًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

It may be that, if he divorce you, his Lord will give him instead wives better than you — resigned, believing, obedient, always turning to God, devout in worship, given to fasting, both widows and virgins.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

قریب ہے کہ اگر وہ تمہیں طلاق دیدے (تو) اس کا ربّ تمہارے بدلے اُس کے لئے تم سے بہتر ازواج لے آئے، مسلمان، ایمان والیاں، فرمانبردار، توبہ کرنے والیاں، عبادت کرنے والیاں، روزے رکھنے والیاں، بیوائیں اور کنواریاں۔

S’il divorce d’avec vous, il se peut que son Seigneur lui accorde à votre place des épouses qui soient meilleures que vous – soumises, croyantes, obéissantes, repentantes, dévotes, portées aux jeûnes, des veuves aussi bien que des vierges.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اس کے رب کے لئے بالکل ممکن ہے کہ اگر وہ تم کو طلاق دے دے تو وہ تم سے زیادہ اچھی بیویاں بدل کر اس کو دے دے جو مسلمان بھی ہوں مومن بھی ہوں فرمانبردار بھی ہوں توبہ کرنے والی‘ عبادت کرنے والی‘ روزہ رکھنے والی‘ بیوہ بھی ہوں اور کنواریاں بھی۔

English - Short Commentary Translation

Maybe, His Lord, if he divorces you, will give him instead wives better than you—resigned, believing, obedient, always turning to God, devout in worship, given to fasting, both widows and virgins.

English - Five Volume Translation

It may be that, if he divorce you, his Lord will give him instead wives better than you—resigned, believing, obedient, always turning to God, devout in worship, given to fasting, both widows and virgins.[4282]

Important Words:

سائحات (given to fasting) is feminine of سائحون which is plural of سائح which is act. part. from ساح. They say ساح فی الارض i.e. he went through the land for the purpose of devoting himself to religious services. سائح means, one who (1) goes through the land as a devotee; or forsakes his home for the sake of God; (2) who observes the obligatory fasts; (3) one who fasts constantly (Lane & Aqrab).

ثیبات (widows) is the plural of ثیب which is derived from ثاب. They say ثیبت المرأة i.e. the woman became a ثیب which means.(1) a woman who has become separated from her husband by his death or by being divorced by him; (2) one who is not a virgin; (3) a woman to whom a man has gone in; (4) a man who has gone in to a woman; (5) a person who has married, whether man or woman; (6) a woman who has attained the age of puberty, though a virgin. رجل ثیب means a man who has been married to a woman (Lane & Aqrab.)

بعید نہیں کہ اگر نبیؐ تم سب بیویوں کو طلاق دیدے تو اللہ اسے ایسی بیویاں تمہارے بدلے میں عطا فرما دے جو تم سے بہتر ہوں، سچی مسلمان، با ایمان، اطاعت گزار، توبہ گزار، عبادت گزار، اور روزہ دار، خواہ شوہر دیدہ ہوں یا باکرہ

English - Sahih

Perhaps his Lord, if he divorced you [all], would substitute for him wives better than you - submitting [to Allah], believing, devoutly obedient, repentant, worshipping, and traveling - [ones] previously married and virgins.

اگر نبی تمیں طلاق دے دے تو بہت جلد اس کا رب اس کے بدلے میں تم سے اچھی بیویاں دے دے گا فرمانبردار ایمان والیاں نمازی توبہ کرنے والی عبادت گزار روزہ دار بیوائیں اور کنواریاں

It is possible that, if he divorces you, his Lord will give him in exchange wives better than you, women who have surrendered, believing, obedient, penitent, devout, given to fasting, who have been married and virgins too.

Maybe if he were to divorce you, your Lord might grant him in exchange wives better than you ‚Äì those who truly submit to Allah, are full of faith, obedient, disposed to repentance, and given to worship and fasting ‚Äì both previously wedded ones and virgins.

In case he divorces you, his Lord will give him better wives in return, who will be modest, true believers, obedient to God, repentant, observant of prayer and fasting, both widows and virgins.
