وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ ٱشْمَأَزَّتْ قُلُوبُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْءَاخِرَةِ ۖ وَإِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ إِذَا هُمْ يَسْتَبْشِرُونَ
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And when Allah alone is mentioned the hearts of those who believe not in the Hereafter shrink with aversion; but when those beside Him are mentioned, behold, they begin to rejoice.

[a]And when Allah alone is mentioned the hearts of those who believe not in the Hereafter shrink with aversion; but when those beside Him are mentioned, behold! they begin to rejoice.[3469]

Important Words:
اشمأزت (shrink with aversion) is derived from شـمز. They say شـمزت نفسی منه i.e. my soul shrank from it in dislike, aversion or hatred. اشمأز means, he shrank or shuddered or was frightened. اشمأزت قلوبھم means, their hearts become contracted and shrink with aversion (Lane).
