وَأَنَّهُۥ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا۟ يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا

And when the Servant of Allah stands up praying to Him, they crowd upon him, well nigh suffocating him.

[a]And when the Servant of Allah stands up praying to Him, they crowd upon him, well-nigh suffocating him.[4408]

96:10-11.

Important Words:

لبداً (crowd upon him suffocating) is derived from لبد. They say لبد بالمکان i.e. he remained, stayed, continued to dwell in the house لبد الشیء بالشیء means, the things became heaped one upon the other. لبد (labida) also means, he (a camel) became choked and suffered from a contortion in the chest and the throat (Lane & Aqrab).

Commentary:

"The Servant of Allah" refers to the Holy Prophet, he being God’s servant par excellence. These words may equally be applied to every Divine Messenger or Reformer. Whenever such a one calls men to God and invites them to give up their evil ways and adopt the path of virtue and righteousness, the sons of darkness place all sorts of obstacles and impediments in his way and harass him in every conceivable manner in order to stifle and smother his voice.

96:10, 11.

The epithet, 'The Servant of Allah,' refers to the Holy Prophet, he being God’s servant par excellence, but it may also be applied to every Divine Messenger or Reformer.

اور یقیناً جب بھی اللہ کا بندہ اُس کو پکارتے ہوئے کھڑا ہوا تو وہ قریب ہوتے ہیں کہ اس پر غَول در غَول ٹُوٹ پڑیں۔

Et lorsque le Serviteur d’Allāh se tient debout L’adorant, ils se ruent sur lui, l’étouffant presque.

German

Und wenn ein Diener Allahs aufsteht, zu Ihm zu beten, dann umdrängen sie ihn, dass sie ihn fast erdrücken.

اور ہمیں نظر آرہا ہے کہ جب اللہ کا بندہ (محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) اسے پکارنے کے لئے کھڑا ہوتا ہے تو یہ (مکہ والے) اس کے اوپر جھپٹ کر آگرتے ہیں۔

اور یہ کہ جب اللہ کا بندہ اُس کو پکارنے کے لئے کھڑا ہوا تو لوگ اُس پر ٹوٹ پڑنے کے لئے تیار ہو گئے

And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass."

اورجب الله کا بندہ (نبی) اس کو پکارنے کھڑا ہوتا ہے تو لوگ اس پر جھمگٹا کرنے لگتے ہیں
