أَلَهُمْ أَرْجُلٌ يَمْشُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْدٍ يَبْطِشُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَآ ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ ءَاذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۗ قُلِ ٱدْعُوا۟ شُرَكَآءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيدُونِ فَلَا تُنظِرُونِ

Have they feet wherewith they walk, or have they hands wherewith they hold, or have they eyes wherewith they see, or have they ears wherewith they hear? Say, ‘Call upon the partners you associate with God, then contrive ye all against me, and give me no time.

Have they feet wherewith they walk, or [b]have they hands wherewith they hold, or have they eyes wherewith they see, or have they ears wherewith they hear? Say, ‘Call upon the partners you associate with God, then [c]contrive you all against me, and give me no time.[1081]

Commentary:

This and the next verse are an amplification of the challenge held out in the previous one. Disbelievers are challenged to call upon their gods to help them in their campaign against Islam, to make use of their entire resources and to muster all their forces to attack it, combining their feet, hands, eyes and ears (symbolic of different classes of men) and leaving no stone unturned to bring it to naught and to waste no time in attacking the Holy Prophet and then see what harm their combined and determined efforts do to him. God has promised to help His Prophet and to make his cause prosper and triumph (5:68 & 58:22).

The above challenge was made at Mecca, when Islam, being yet in its infancy, was very weak and the Holy Prophet and his followers seemed to be entirely at the mercy of their cruel and powerful foe. Such a challenge under such conditions could not but be issued by a true Messenger of God. The challenge was also meant to demonstrate to the Meccans the helplessness of their gods; for it invited them to enlist their help against Islam.

This and the next verse constitute an amplification of the challenge held out to disbelievers in the previous verse. کیا ان کے پاؤں ہیں جن سے وہ چلتے ہیں یا ان کے ہاتھ ہیں جن سے وہ پکڑتے ہیں یا ان کی آنکھیں ہیں جن سے وہ دیکھتے ہیں یا ان کے کان ہیں جن سے وہ سنتے ہیں۔ تو کہہ دے کہ تم اپنے شرکاءکو بلاؤ اور پھر میرے خلاف ہر چال چل دیکھو اور مجھے کوئی مہلت نہ دو۔

French

Ont-ils des pieds avec quoi marcher, ou des mains avec quoi tenir, ou des yeux avec quoi voir, ou des oreilles avec quoi entendre ? Dis : « Invoquez ceux que vous associez à Allāh ; puis ourdissez votre complot contre moi et ne me laissez aucun répit.

¿Tienen acaso pies con los que andar, manos con las que sostener, ojos con los que ver u oídos con los que oír? Diles: “Invocad a los ocios que asociáis a Dios, conspirad después todos vosotros contra mí, y no me deis tiempo”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

کیا ان کے پاؤں ہیں جن سے وہ چلتے ہیں؟ یا ان کے ہاتھ ہیں جن سے وہ پکڑتے ہیں؟ یا ان کی آنکھیں ہیں جن سے وہ دیکھتے ہیں؟ یا ان کے کان ہیں جن سے وہ سنتے ہیں۔ تو ان سے کہہ دے کہ اپنے سب شریکوں کو بلا لو پھر سب مل کر میرے خلاف منصوبہ کرو اور مجھے کوئی ڈھیل نہ دو۔

کیا یہ پاؤں رکھتے ہیں کہ ان سے چلیں؟ کیا یہ ہاتھ رکھتے ہیں کہ ان سے پکڑیں؟ کیا یہ آنکھیں رکھتے ہیں کہ ان سے دیکھیں؟ کیا یہ کان رکھتے ہیں کہ ان سے سنیں؟ اے محمدؐ، ان سے کہو کہ "بلا لو اپنے ٹھیرائے ہوئے شریکوں کو پھر تم سب مل کر میرے خلاف تدبیریں کرو اور مجھے ہرگز مہلت نہ دو
