وَسْـَٔلْ مَنْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رُّسُلِنَآ أَجَعَلْنَا مِن دُونِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ءَالِهَةً يُعْبَدُونَ

And ask those of Our Messengers whom We sent before thee, ‘Did We appoint any deities beside the Gracious God, to be worshipped?’

[d]And ask those of Our Messengers whom We sent before thee, ‘Did We appoint any deities besides the Gracious God, to be worshipped?’[3671]
21:26.
Commentary:
The verse means to say that study of the lives of all Divine Messengers reveals the fact that they all taught and preached Unity of God and directed all their efforts to its establishment in the world. There is not to be found in their teachings the faintest support of polytheism or remotest reference to it.
