وَقَالُوا۟ لِجُلُودِهِمْ لِمَ شَهِدتُّمْ عَلَيْنَا ۖ قَالُوٓا۟ أَنطَقَنَا ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And they will say to their skins: ‘Why bear ye witness against us?’ They will say: ‘Allah has made us to speak as He has made everything else to speak. And He it is Who created you the first time, and unto Him have you been brought back.

English - Five Volume Translation

And they will say to their skins: ‘Why bear ye witness against us?’ They will say: ‘Allah has made us to speak as He has made everything else to speak. And He it is Who created you the first time, and unto Him have you been brought back.[3573]

Commentary:

In the previous verse it was mentioned that the ears, eyes and skins of the guilty will give evidence against them. In this verse the first two organs have been omitted and only "the skins" are mentioned as having been given the power to speak. This is because the skin plays the most important part in man’s actions. It includes not only the sense of touch but also all the other senses. While the sins of the eyes and the ears are confined to seeing and hearing, the sins of "the skin" extend to all organs or limbs of the body.

English - Short Commentary Translation

And they will say to their skins,[2629] ‘Why have you borne witness against us?’ They will say, ‘Allah has made us speak as He has made everything else speak. And He it is Who created you the first time, and unto Him have you been brought back.

The skin plays the most important part in man’s actions. It includes not only the sense of touch but also all the other senses. While the sins of the eyes and the ears are confined to seeing and hearing, the sins of 'the skin' extend to all organs or limbs of the body.

اور وہ اپنے چمڑوں سے کہیں گے تم نے کیوں ہمارے خلاف گواہی دی؟ وہ جواب دیں گے کہ اللہ نے ہمیں بولنے کی توفیق دی جس نے ہر چیز کو گویائی بخشی ہے اور وہی ہے جس نے تمہیں پہلی مرتبہ پیدا کیا اور اُسی کی طرف تم لوٹائے جاؤ گے۔

Et ils diront à leurs peaux : « Pourquoi témoignez-vous contre nous ? » Elles diront « Allāh nous a fait parler, Lui Qui a fait parler toute chose. Et c’est Lui Qui vous a créés la première fois, et c’est vers Lui que vous avez été ramenés.

Und sie werden zu ihrer Haut sprechen: "Warum zeugst du wider uns?" Sie wird sprechen: "Allah hat mir Rede verliehen – Er, Der einem jeden Ding Rede verleiht. Und Er ist es, Der euch erstmals erschuf, und zu Ihm seid ihr zurückgebracht.

他们将向自己的皮肤[1184]说: “你们为什么做反对我们的证明?” 它们将说: “正如安拉使每一个东西说话一样, 他已使我们说话了。起初他创造了你们, 最后你们还得归向他。

皮肤在人的活动中起着很重要的作用。它不仅有触觉, 而且还有其他一切感觉。虽然耳目的罪过局限于视听, “皮肤” 的罪过旁及身体上所有的器官和四肢。

E diranno alle loro pelli: «Perché avete testimoniato contro di noi?» Ed esse risponderanno: «Allah ci ha fatto parlare, così come ha fatto parlare ogni altra cosa. Ed è Lui che vi ha creato la prima volta, e a Lui sarete ricondotti.

Spanish

Y dirán a sus pieles: ¿”Por qué presentáis testimonio contra nosotros?”. Dirán: “Al-lah nos ha hecho hablar como ha hecho que todas las demás cosas hablen. Pues Él es Quien os creó la primera vez y a Él habéis sido devueltos.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور وہ اپنے چمڑوں سے کہیں گے تم نے ہمارے خلاف گواہی کیوں دی؟ اور ان کے چمڑے جواب میں کہیں گے‘ ہم سے اسی خدا نے کلام کروایا ہے جس نے ہر چیز سے کلام کروایا ہے اور اس نے تم کو پہلی دفعہ بھی پیدا کیا تھا اور پھر بھی تم اس کی طرف لوٹائے جاؤ گے۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

وہ اپنے جسم کی کھالوں سے کہیں گے "تم نے ہمارے خلاف کیوں گواہی دی؟"وہ جواب دیں گی "ہمیں اُسی خدا نے گویائی دی ہے جس نے ہر چیز کو گویا کر دیا ہے اُسی نے تم کو پہلی مرتبہ پیدا کیا تھا اور اب اُسی کی طرف تم واپس لائے جا رہے ہو

English - Sahih

And they will say to their skins, "Why have you testified against us?" They will say, "We were made to speak by Allah, who has made everything speak; and He created you the first time, and to Him you are returned.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

وہ اپنی کھالوں سے کہیں گے کہ تم نے ہمارے خلاف کیوں گواہی دی وہ کہیں گے کہ ہمیں الله نے گویائی دی جس نے ہر چیز کو گویائی بخشی ہے اور اسی نے پہلی مرتبہ تمہیں پیدا کیا اور اسی کی طرف تم لوٹائے جاؤ گے

And they will say to their skins, "Why do you testify against us?" They will say, "Allah made us speak, the One Who makes speak every thing; and He created you (the) first time, and to Him you will be returned."

They will ask their skins: “Why did you bear witness against us?” The skins will reply: “Allah gave us speech, as He gave speech to all others. He it is Who created you for the first time and it is to Him that you will be sent back.
