هُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟ أَشُدَّكُمْ ثُمَّ لِتَكُونُوا۟ شُيُوخًا ۚ وَمِنكُم مَّن يُتَوَفَّىٰ مِن قَبْلُ ۖ وَلِتَبْلُغُوٓا۟ أَجَلًا مُّسَمًّى وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

He it is Who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clot; then He brings you forth as a child; then He lets you grow that you may attain your full strength; then He lets you become old — though some among you are caused to die before — and He lets you live that you may reach a term appointed, and that you may learn wisdom.

English - Short Commentary Translation

He it is [d]Who created you from dust,[2615] then from a sperm-drop, then from a clot; then He brings you forth as a child; then He lets you grow, so that you attain your full strength; and afterward become old—though some among you are caused to die before—and that you may reach a term appointed and that you may learn wisdom.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

وہی ہے جس نے (اوّلاً) تمہیں مٹی سے پیدا کیا، پھر نطفہ سے، پھر لوتھڑے سے، پھر تمہیں بچے کی صورت باہر نکالتا ہے اور پھر یہ توفیق بخشتا ہے کہ تم اپنی بلوغت کی عُمر کو پہنچو تاکہ پھر یہ امکان ہو کہ تم بوڑھے ہو جاؤ اور تاکہ تم آخری مقررہ مدت تک پہنچ جاؤ۔ہاں کچھ تم میں سے ایسے بھی ہیں جنہیں پہلے ہی وفات دے دی جاتی ہے اور (یہ نظام اس لئے ہے) تاکہ تم عقل کرو۔

French

C’est Lui Qui vous a créés de poussière, ensuite d’une goutte de sperme, ensuite d’un caillot adhérent ; ensuite Il vous fait naître enfant ; ensuite Il fait en sorte que vous atteigniez votre pleine vigueur pour qu’ensuite vous deveniez vieux – bien qu’à certains d’entre vous la mort soit donnée avant – et Il vous laisse vivre afin que vous atteigniez un terme fixé, et que vous puissiez apprendre la sagesse.

German

Er ist es. Der euch aus Erde erschuf, dann aus einem Samentropfen, dann aus einem Blutklumpen; dann lässt Er euch als ein Kindlein hervorgehen; dann (lässt Er euch wachsen) auf dass ihr eure Vollkraft erreichet; dann (lässt Er) euch alt werden – wenngleich einige unter euch vorher zum Sterben berufen werden –, und (Er lässt euch leben) damit ihr eine bestimmte Frist erreichet und damit ihr Weisheit lernet.

[b]他 (初) 以泥土[1171], 再以一滴精液, 继以一块凝血创造了你们, 然后使你们生为婴儿, 继而让你们达到健壮之年, 最后使你们变为老人--------你们中也有些夭折的 --------这样是为了要你们达到固定的时期, 也为了要你们 (利用这个时期) 运用自己的理智。

Italian

È Lui che vi ha creato dalla polvere, quindi da una goccia di sperma, poi da un grumo; dopo vi fa nascere come bambini; quindi Egli vi fa crescere fino a raggiungere il pieno vigore, e dopo vi fa diventare vecchi - ma alcuni di voi sono fatti morire prima - e vi fa vivere perché arriviate al termine fissato, e perché diventiate saggi.

Spanish

Él es Quien os creó del polvo, después de una gota de esperma y más arde de un coágulo; después os permite alcanzar la niñez y más tarde os hace crecer para que alcancéis toda vuestra fuerza; por último permite que os hagáis ancianos – aunque a alguno de vosotros se les hace morir antes – y os deja vivir para que lleguéis al plazo fijado y aprendáis la sabiduría.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

وہی ہے جس نے تم کو (پہلے دور میں) مٹی سے پیدا کیا پھر (دوسرے دور میں) نطفہ سے‘ پھر (تیسرے دور میں) ایک خون کے لوتھڑے سے۔ پھر (اس سے) تم کو ایک بچہ بنا کر نکالتا ہے۔ پھر اس کا نتیجہ یہ ہوتا ہے کہ تم اپنی جوانی کو پہنچ جاتے ہو پھر اس کا نتیجہ یہ ہوتا ہے کہ تم اپنے بڑھاپے کو پہنچ جاتے ہو اور تم میں سے کسی کی روح اس (عمر کو پہنچنے) سے پہلے (یعنی بڑھاپے کی عمر سے پہلے) قبض کر لی جاتی ہے اور وہ ایسا اس لئے کرتا جاتا ہے کہ تم اس مدت کو پہنچ جاؤ جو تمہارے لئے مقرر کی گئی ہے اور تا کہ تم (اس ڈھیل کے زمانہ سے فائدہ اٹھا کر) عقل سے کام لے لو۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

وہی تو ہے جس نے تم کو مٹی سے پیدا کیا، پھر نطفے سے، پھر خون کے لوتھڑے سے، پھر وہ تمہیں بچے کی شکل میں نکالتا ہے، پھر تمہیں بڑھاتا ہے تاکہ تم اپنی پوری طاقت کو پہنچ جاؤ، پھر اور بڑھاتا ہے تاکہ تم بڑھاپے کو پہنچو اور تم میں سے کوئی پہلے ہی واپس بلا لیا جاتا ہے یہ سب کچھ اس لیے کیا جاتا ہے تاکہ تم اپنے مقرر وقت تک پہنچ جاؤ، اور اس لیے کہ تم حقیقت کو سمجھو

English - Sahih

It is He who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot; then He brings you out as a child; then [He develops you] that you reach your [time of] maturity, then [further] that you become elders. And among you is he who is taken in death before [that], so that you reach a specified term; and perhaps you will use reason.

وہی ہے جس نے تمہیں مٹی سے پھر نطفے سے پھر خون بستہ سے پیدا کیا پھر وہ تمہیں بچہ بنا کر نکالتا ہے پھر باقی رکھتا ہے تاکہ تم اپنی جوانی کو پہنچو پھر یہاں تک کہ تم بوڑھے ہو جاتے ہو کچھ تم میں اس سے پہلے مر جاتے ہیں (بعض کو زندہ رکھتا ہےاور تاکہ تم وقت مقررہ تک پہنچو اور تاکہ تم سمجھو

English - Talal Itani

He (is) the One Who created you from dust, then from a semen-drop, then from a clinging substance, then He brings you out (as) a child; then lets you reach your maturity, then lets you become old - and among you (is he) who dies before - and lets you reach a term specified, and that you may use reason.

English - Arberry

It is He who created you of dust then of a sperm-drop, then of a blood-clot, then He delivers you as infants, then that you may come of age, then that you may be old men -- though some of you there are who die before it -- and that you may reach a stated term; haply you will understand.

English - Maududi

He it is Who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clot; then He brings you out as an infant, then causes you to grow into full maturity, and then causes you to grow further so that you may reach old age, while some of you He recalls earlier. All this is in order that you may reach an appointed term and that you may understand (the Truth).

English - Ahmed Ali

It is He who created you from dust, then a drop of semen, then the embryo; afterwards He brings you forth as a child; then you attain the age of manhood, and then reach old age. But some of you die before you reach the appointed term that you may haply understand.
