فَلَمَّا جَآءَهُم بِٱلْحَقِّ مِنْ عِندِنَا قَالُوا۟ ٱقْتُلُوٓا۟ أَبْنَآءَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥ وَٱسْتَحْيُوا۟ نِسَآءَهُمْ ۚ وَمَا كَيْدُ ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَٰلٍ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And when he came to them with truth from Us, they said: ‘Slay the sons of those who have believed with him, and let their women live.’ But the design of the disbelievers is but a thing wasted.

[a]And when he came to them with truth from Us, they said: ‘Slay the sons of those who have believed with him, and let their women live.’ But the design of the disbelievers is bound to fail.[3513]

10:77.

Commentary:

Pharaoh, his ministers and people sought to wipe out the entire manhood of Israel by killing their men and taking into forcible marriage their women. That indeed constituted a most wicked design against Israel on Pharaoh’s part. But the design failed miserably. So would the Holy Prophet’s opponents, the verse signifies, fail in their wicked designs against him.

[a]And when he came to them with truth from Us, they said, [b]‘Slay the sons of those who have believed with him, and let their women live.’ But the design of the disbelievers is ever bound to fail.

29:40.

پس جب وہ ہماری طرف سے حق لے کر ان کے پاس آیا تو انہوں نے کہا۔ ان لوگوں کے بیٹوں کو قتل کرو جو اس کے ساتھ ایمان لائے اور ان کی عورتوں کو زندہ رکھو۔ اور کافروں کی تدبیر بے کار جانے کے سوا کوئی حیثیت نہیں رکھتی۔

French

Et lorsqu’il vint à eux avec la vérité de Notre part, ils dirent : « Tuez les fils de ceux qui ont cru avec lui, et épargnez leurs femmes. » Mais le dessein des mécréants n’est que peine perdue.

German

Und als er zu ihnen kam mit der Wahrheit von Uns, da sprachen sie: "Tötet die Söhne derer, die mit ihm glauben, und verschonet ihre Frauen." Doch der Anschlag der Ungläubigen ist nichts als vergeblich.

[a]当他带着我的真理来到他们那里, 他们说: [b]“杀害信仰他的那些人的儿子, 让他们的妇女活着。” 但不信者的计划是无用的。

E quando si recò da loro con verità da parte Nostra, essi dissero: «Siano uccisi i figli di quelli che hanno creduto insieme a lui, mentre le donne siano lasciate in vita.» Ma il disegno dei miscredenti è sempre vano.

Spanish

Mas cuando llegó a ellos con Nuestra verdad, dijeron: “Matad a los hijos de quienes han creído con él, y dejad vivas a sus mujeres”. Pero el designio de los incrédulos no es sino inútil.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

پس جب وہ (موسیٰ) ہماری طرف سے حق لے کر ان کے پاس آیا تو انہوں نے کہا‘ جو لوگ ایمان لا کر اس کے ساتھ شامل ہو گئے ہیں۔ ان کے بیٹوں کو ہلاک کر دو۔ اور ان کی عورتوں کو زندہ رکھو اور کافروں کی تدبیر ہمیشہ الٹی ہی پڑتی ہے[2]۔

بعض دفعہ بظاہر یوں معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ نبی کے مقابلہ میں کفار کی تدبیر کامیاب رہی مگر یہ ایک بہت چھوٹے عرصہ کے لئے ہوتا ہے۔ اصل کامیابی وہی ہوتی ہے جو مستقل ہو اور کافروں کو کبھی مستقل کامیابی نہیں ملتی۔ بلکہ مستقل کامیابی صرف انبیاء اور ان کی جماعتوں کو ملتی ہے۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

پھر جب وہ ہماری طرف سے حق ان کے سامنے لے آیا تو انہوں نے کہا "جو لوگ ایمان لا کر اس کے ساتھ شامل ہوئے ہیں ان سب کے لڑکوں کو قتل کرو اور لڑکیاں کو جیتا چھوڑ دو" مگر کافروں کی چال اکارت ہی گئی

English - Sahih

And when he brought them the truth from Us, they said, "Kill the sons of those who have believed with him and keep their women alive." But the plan of the disbelievers is not except in error.

پس جب وہ ان کے پاس ہماری طرف سے سچا دین لائے تو کہنے لگے ان لوگوں کے بیٹوں کو قتل کر دو جو موسیٰ پر ایمان لائے ہیں اور ان کی عورتوں کو زندہ رہنے دو اور کافروں کے داؤ تو محض غلط ہوا کرتے ہیں
