39:21

لَٰكِنِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوْا۟ رَبَّهُمْ لَهُمْ غُرَفٌ مِّن فَوْقِهَا غُرَفٌ مَّبْنِيَّةٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَٰرُ ۖ وَعْدَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلْمِيعَادَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

But for them who fear their Lord there are lofty mansions built over lofty mansions, beneath which rivers flow. Allah has made that promise; and Allah breaks not His promise.

English - Five Volume Translation

But for them who fear their Lord [a]there are lofty mansions built over lofty mansions, beneath which rivers flow. Allah has made that promise; and Allah breaks not His promise.[3449]

25:76; 29:59; 34:38.

Commentary:

The difference in ranks of believers in Paradise shows that there will be a corresponding difference in their endeavour and labour which signifies that the next life will not be a life of inactivity and lassitude but of incessant work and continuous advance.

English - Short Commentary Translation

But for them who fear their Lord [a]there are lofty mansions, built over lofty mansions,[2570] beneath which streams flow. Allah has made that promise; and Allah breaks not His promise.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

لیکن وہ لوگ جو اپنے ربّ کا تقویٰ اختیار کرتے ہیں ان کے لئے بالاخانے ہیں جن کے اوپر اور بالاخانے بنائے گئے ہوں گے ان کے دامن میں نہریں بہیں گی۔ (یہ) اللہ نے وعدہ کیا ہے۔ اللہ وعدوں کو ٹالا نہیں کرتا۔

French

Mais pour ceux qui craignent leur Seigneur, il y a des demeures élevées sur lesquelles d’autres demeures élevées sont construites et sous lesquelles coulent des rivières. Allāh a fait cette promesse ; et Allāh ne manque pas à Sa promesse.

German

Für die jedoch, die ihren Herrn fürchten, sind Hochgemächer, über Hochgemächern erbaut, unter denen Ströme fließen. Eine Verheißung Allahs – Allah bricht das Versprechen nicht.

Chinese

但敬畏自己养主的人[a]将享有高耸的宅第, 其上还建有高耸的宅第,[1130]其下则诸河川流不息。这是安拉的诺言, 安拉绝不违背他的诺言。

Italian

Mentre per coloro che temono il loro Signore ci sono abitazioni elevate, costruite sopra abitazioni elevate, sotto le quali scorrono fiumi. Allah ha fatto questa promessa; e Allah non viene meno alla Sua promessa.

Spanish

Pero para los que temen a su Señor hay mansiones elevadas y otras construidas aún más elevadas, por debajo de las cuales fluyen ríos. Al‑lah ha hecho esa promesa; y Al‑lah no rompe Su promesa.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

لیکن وہ لوگ جو اپنے رب کا تقویٰ اختیار کرتے ہیں ان کو کئی منزل والے مکان عطا ہونگے جن کے اوپر اور منزلیں مضبوطی کے ساتھ بنی ہوں گی۔ ان کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہونگی یہ اللہ کا ایک پختہ عہد ہے (اور) اللہ اپنے وعدوں کو توڑا نہیں کرتا۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

البتہ جو لوگ اپنے رب سے ڈر کر رہے اُن کے لیے بلند عمارتیں ہیں منزل پر منزل بنی ہوئی، جن کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہوں گی یہ اللہ کا وعدہ ہے، اللہ کبھی اپنے وعدے کی خلاف ورزی نہیں کرتا

English - Sahih

But those who have feared their Lord - for them are chambers, above them chambers built high, beneath which rivers flow. [This is] the promise of Allah. Allah does not fail in [His] promise.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

لیکن جو لوگ اپنےرب سے ڈرتے رہے ان کے لیے بالا خانے ہیں جن کے اوپر اوربالا خانے بنے ہوئے ہیں ان کے نیچے نہریں چلتی ہوں گی یہ الله کا وعدہ ہے اور الله اپنے وعدے کے خلاف نہیں کرتا

English - Talal Itani

But those who fear their Lord, for them (are) lofty mansions, above them lofty mansions built high, flow from beneath it the rivers. (The) Promise (of) Allah. Not Allah fails (in His) promise.

But those who fear their Lord -- for them await lofty chambers, above which are built lofty chambers, underneath which rivers flow -- God's promise; God fails not the tryst.

English - Maududi

But those who fear their Lord shall have lofty mansions built over one another beneath which rivers flow. This is Allah's promise and never does Allah fail to fulfil His promise.

But for those who fear displeasing their Lord there are lofty mansions built above mansions, with rivers rippling past below them: A promise of God; (and) God does not go back on His promise.

But it is for those who fear their Lord. That lofty mansions, one above another, have been built: beneath them flow rivers (of delight): (such is) the Promise of Allah: never doth Allah fail in (His) promise.

But those who keep their duty to their Lord, for them are lofty halls with lofty halls above them, built (for them), beneath which rivers flow. (It is) a promise of Allah. Allah faileth not His promise.

But those who keep their duty to their Lord, for them are high places, above them higher places, built (for them), wherein rivers flow. (It is) the promise of Allah. Allah fails not in (His) promise.
