قُلْ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَكُونَ رَدِفَ لَكُم بَعْضُ ٱلَّذِى تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Say, ‘It may be that a part of that which you would hasten on may be close behind you.’

Say, ‘It may be that [c]a part of that which you would hasten on may be close behind you.’[2862]

Commentary:

To the challenge of disbelievers referred to in the preceding verse as to when the promise about the departure of their glory and greatness will be fulfilled, they are told that a part of it will be fulfilled very soon. At another place in the Quran it is stated that the promise of punishment to the disbelievers will be fulfilled within a year after the Holy Prophet’s flight from Mecca when "the glory of Kedar (Quraish) shall depart" (34:31).

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

تُو کہہ دے بعید نہیں کہ ان باتوں میں سے بعض جن کو تم جلدی طلب کرتے ہو تمہارے پیچھے لگی ہوئی ہوں۔

Dis : « Il se peut qu’une partie de cette punition promise que vous cherchez à hâter d’une manière arrogante soit déjà sur vos talons. »

German

Sprich: "Vielleicht ist ein Teil von dem, was ihr beschleunigen möchtet, schon nahe an euch herangekommen."

你 (对他们) 说: “恐怕你们所要求迅速到来的 (惩罚), 有[f]一部分正在临近你们。”

Diles: “Podría ocurrir que, una parte del castigo prometido que arrogantemente demandáis que os sobrevenga, ya esté tras vuestros talones”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

تو کہہ دے کہ ممکن ہے کہ وہ (عذاب) جس کے لئے تم جلدی کر رہے ہو اس کا کچھ حصہ تمہارے پیچھے پیچھے چلا آرہا ہو۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

کہو کیا عجب کہ جس عذاب کے لیے تم جلدی مچا رہے ہو اس کا ایک حصہ تمہارے قریب ہی آ لگا ہو

Say, "Perhaps it is close behind you - some of that for which you are impatient.
