إِلَّا مَن ظَلَمَ ثُمَّ بَدَّلَ حُسْنًۢا بَعْدَ سُوٓءٍ فَإِنِّى غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

‘As to those who do wrong and then substitute good for evil; to them, I am indeed Most Forgiving, Merciful.

As to those who do wrong and then substitute good for evil; to them, I am indeed Most Forgiving, Merciful.[2820]

Commentary:

The particle إلا is used here as إستشناء منقطع and introduces a new statement; or it may have been used in the sense of ولا meaning "and not" or "nor." In this sense of the word the verse under comment conjoined with the preceding verse would mean: the Messengers need have no fear in My presence nor those who do wrong and then substitute good for evil. For discussion of إستشناء منقطع see 2:35.

‘As to those who do wrong and then adopt good instead of evil; to them I am indeed Most Forgiving, Merciful;

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

مگر وہ جس نے کوئی ظلم کیا ہو پھر وہ (اُسے) بدی کے بعد نیکی میں تبدیل کر دے تو یقیناً مَیں بہت بخشنے والا (اور) بار بار رحم کرنے والا ہوں۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

مگر جس نے ظلم کیا‘ لیکن پھر[2] اس ظلم کو چھوڑ کر نیکی اختیار کی‘ میں (اس کے لئے) بڑا بخشنے والا (اور) باربار کرم کرنے والا ہوں۔

ہم پہلے لکھ چکے ہیں کہ کئی جگہ پر نبی مخاطب ہوتا ہے اور مراد اس سے جماعت ہوتی ہے۔ یہاں بھی پہلی آیت میں یہ فرمایا ہے کہ نبی مجھ سے نہیں ڈرتے مگر بعد میں فرمایا کہ ہاں جس نے ظلم کیا اور بعد میں اس کو نیکی سے بدل دیا اس کو خدا بخش دے گا۔ اور یہ آیت نبیوں پر نہیں لگتی۔ سو یاد رکھنا چاہئیے کہ اس جگہ مرادنبیوں کے اتباع ہیں جو نبیوں کے قائم مقام ہوتے ہیں۔ ان میں سے بعض پہلے کافر ہوتے ہیں اور بعد میں مومن ہو جاتے ہیں۔

اِلّا یہ کہ کسی نے قصور کیا ہو پھر اگر برائی کے بعد اُس نے بھَلائی سے اپنے فعل کو بدل لیا تو میں معاف کرنے والا مہربان ہوں

English - Sahih

Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil - indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful.

مگر جس نے ظلم کیا پھر برائی کے بعد اسے نیکی سے بدل دیا ہوتو میں بخشنے والا مہربان ہوں
