لَعَلَّكَ بَٰخِعٌ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ

Commentary:

The verse speaks volumes for the Holy Prophet’s concern and solicitude for the spiritual well-being of his people. His grief over their rejection of his message and opposition to it had almost killed him. He knew that if his people did not desist from opposing him and did not give up their evil ways, Divine wrath would descend upon them. The realization of this fact lay very heavy upon his heart. God’s Messengers and His Prophets are full of the milk of human kindness. They cry and weep and grieve for mankind. But such is human ingratitude that those very people for whom they feel so deeply persecute them and seek to kill them.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

کیا تو اپنی جان کو اس لئے ہلاک کر دے گا کہ وہ مومن نہیں ہوتے۔

Il se peut que tu te désoles à en mourir, parce qu’ils ne croient pas.

18:7.

بَاخِعْ (Bakhi‘) 源出于 بَخَعَ (Bakha‘a) 的主动式分词, 意思是, 他出色地完成了一件事, 这经文畅述了穆圣对人们精神生活的关切之情。人们对安拉的启示采取拒绝与排斥的态度令他痛心到几乎灭绝的地步。真主的使者与先知满怀温和、慈爱, 他们为整个人类悲伤哭泣。而偏偏就是他们为之伤心痛哭的这一些人, 辜负了他们, 迫害他们, 追杀他们。

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

شاید تو اپنی جان کو ہلاکت میں ڈالے گا کہ وہ کیوں[2] نہیں مومن ہوتے۔

یعنی تیرا پاکیزہ دل کافروں کے سچائی کے انکار کو برداشت نہیں کر سکتا اور خواہش کرتا ہے کہ وہ بھی ہدایت پاجائیں۔

اے محمدؐ، شاید تم اس غم میں اپنی جان کھو دو گے کہ یہ لوگ ایمان نہیں لاتے
