They said, ‘If thou desist not, O Noah, thou shalt surely be one of those who are stoned.’

They said, ‘If thou desist not, O Noah, thou shalt surely be one of those who are stoned.’[2768]

English - Short Commentary Translation

They said, ‘If thou desist not, O Noah, thou shalt surely be stoned to death.’

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

انہوں نے کہا اے نوح! اگر تُو باز نہ آیا تو ضرور تو سنگسار کئے جانے والوں میں سے ہو جائے گا۔

Ils dirent : « Si tu ne cesses pas, ô Noé, tu seras sûrement lapidé. »

Sie sprachen: "Wenn du nicht ablässest, o Noah, so wirst du sicherlich gesteinigt werden."

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

(ان کافروں نے) کہا اے نوح! اگر تو باز نہ آیا تو تو سنگسار کیے جانے والوں میں شامل ہو جائے گا (یعنی ہم تجھے سنگسار کر دیں گے) ۔

انہوں نے کہا "اے نوحؑ، اگر تو باز نہ آیا تو پھٹکارے ہوئے لوگوں میں شامل ہو کر رہے گا"

مرجومین (stoned) is the plural of مرجوم which is derived from رجم. They say رجمه i.e. he pelted him with stones; he calumniated or slandered him; or abused him; he inveighed against him, he cursed him; he drove him away; he forsook him (Lane & Aqrab). See also 3:37.
