هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ قَوْمُنَا ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً ۖ لَّوْلَا يَأْتُونَ عَلَيْهِم بِسُلْطَٰنٍۭ بَيِّنٍ ۖ فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفْتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

‘These, our people, have taken for worship other gods beside Him. Wherefore do they not bring a clear authority for them? And who is more unjust than he who invents a lie concerning Allah?

English - Five Volume Translation

[a]These, our people, have taken for worship other gods beside Him. Wherefore do they not bring a clear authority for them? And [b]who is more unjust than he who invents a lie concerning Allah?[2056]

Commentary:

By using the words "our people" the verse shows that the people to whom the Dwellers of the Cave belonged were idol-worshippers. Such were the Romans who worshipped idols.

[b]‘These, our people, have taken for worship other gods beside Him.[1672] Wherefore do they not bring a clear authority regarding them? And [a]who is more unjust than he who invents a lie concerning Allah?

The people to whom the Dwellers of the Cave belonged were idol-worshippers. Such were the Romans.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

یہ ہیں ہماری قوم، جنہوں نے اس کے سوا معبود بنا رکھے ہیں۔ وہ کیوں ان کے حق میں کوئی غالب روشن دلیل نہیں لاتے؟ پس اس سے زیادہ ظالم کون ہو سکتا ہے جو اللہ پر جھوٹ گھڑے۔

French

Nos gens que voici ont pris en adoration des dieux en dehors de Lui. Pourquoi n’apportent-ils pas une autorité manifeste en ce qui les concerne ? Et qui commet une plus grande injustice que celui qui invente un mensonge à propos d’Allāh ?

Dieses unser Volk hat Götter statt Ihn angenommen. Warum bringen sie dann nicht einen klaren Beweis dafür? Und wer verübt größeren Frevel, als wer eine Lüge gegen Allah erdichtet?

“[a]这些人即我们民族离弃安拉而设立其他的崇拜对象。他们为什么不用明证来证实他们 (所设立的崇拜对象) 是真理? (而且他们为什么不明白), [b]谁 (能) 比对于安拉捏造虚假还不义呢?

Questo nostro popolo ha preso altri dei per adorarli, all'infuori di Lui. Perché non portano una chiara prova per essi? E chi è più ingiusto di colui che inventa una menzogna contro Allah?

“Éstos, nuestras gentes, han tomado para adorar a otros dioses en lugar de Él. ¿Por qué no presentan entonces una prueba evidente de ellos? Pues ¿quién es más injusto que quien inventa una mentira sobre Al-lah?

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

ان لوگوں یعنی ہماری قوم نے اس (معبود برحق) کو چھوڑ کر (اپنے لئے) اور معبود بنا لیے ہیں۔ وہ ان کے ثبوت میں کیوں کوئی روشن دلیل نہیں لاتے۔ پھر (وہ کیوں نہیں سمجھتے) کہ جو شخص اللہ پر جھوٹ باندھے اس سے بڑھ کر ظالم[1] (اور) کون (ہوسکتا) ہے۔

قرآن مجید میں مثبت کے الفاظ ہیں۔ مگر اردو میں صحیح ترجمہ ’’کوئی نہیں‘‘ کے ساتھ ہو سکتا ہے۔ ہم نے الفاظ قرآنی کو قائم رکھنے کے لئے مثبت ترجمہ ہی قائم رکھا ہے۔ کیونکہ اس سے مطلب سمجھ میں آجاتا ہے۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

(پھر انہوں نے آپس میں ایک دوسرے سے کہا) "یہ ہماری قوم تو ربِّ کائنات کو چھوڑ کر دوسرے خدا بنا بیٹھی ہے یہ لوگ ان کے معبود ہونے پر کوئی واضح دلیل کیوں نہیں لاتے؟ آخر اُس شخص سے بڑا ظالم اور کون ہو سکتا ہے جو اللہ پر جھوٹ باندھے؟

English - Sahih

These, our people, have taken besides Him deities. Why do they not bring for [worship of] them a clear authority? And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah a lie?"

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

یہ ہماری قوم ہے انہوں نے الله کے سوا اورمعبود بنا لیے ہیں ان پر کوئی کھلی دلیل کیوں نہیں لاتے پھر اس سے بڑا ظالم کون ہوگا جس نے الله پر جھوٹ باندھا

These our people have taken to them other gods, apart from Him. Ah, if only they would bring some clear authority regarding them! But who does greater evil than he who forges against God a lie?

(Then they conferred among themselves and said): "These men, our own people, have taken others as gods beside Him: why do they not bring any clear evidence that they indeed are gods? Who can be more unjust than he who foists a lie on Allah?
