ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَصَدُّوا۟ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ زِدْنَٰهُمْ عَذَابًا فَوْقَ ٱلْعَذَابِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يُفْسِدُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

As for those who disbelieve and turn men away from the way of Allah, We will add punishment to their punishment because they acted corruptly.

7:46; 11:20; 14:4.

Commentary:

The verse mentions two classes of disbelievers; (1) those who are themselves misguided and (2) those who mislead others also. The latter class of disbelievers will have double punishment in the next life. The irony of it lies in the fact that the clever people who deceived their simple-minded followers into believing that they would be responsible for their salvation will find their own punishment to be double the punishment of their credulous followers for whose salvation they proudly said they would be responsible.

[e]As for those who disbelieve and turn men away from the way of Allah, We will add punishment to their punishment because they made mischief.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

وہ لوگ جنہوں نے کفر کیا اور اللہ کے رستہ سے روکا ہم انہیں عذاب پر عذاب میں بڑھاتے چلے جائیں گے بسبب اس کے کہ وہ فساد کیا کرتے تھے۔

French

Quant à ceux qui refusent de croire, et qui empêchentles gens de suivre la voie d’Allāh, Nous ajouterons un châtiment à leur châtiment parce qu’ils ont agi de façon corrompue.

German

Die nun ungläubig sind und abwendig machen von Allahs Weg, zu (deren) Strafe werden Wir noch Strafe hinzufügen, weil sie verderbt handelten.

Chinese

[f]那些不信而又阻止别人 (知行) 安拉之道的人, 我将增加他们所受的惩罚, 因为他们经常制造混乱。

Italian

Quanto a coloro che non credono e distolgono gli uomini dal cammino di Allah, Noi aggiungeremo punizione alla loro punizione perché agivano con corruzione.

Spanish

En cuanto a los incrédulos que apartan a los hombres del camino de Al-lah, añadiremos un castigo a su castigo por haber actuado con corrupción.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

جن لوگوں نے (خود بھی) کفر (کا طریق) اختیار کیا ہے اور (دوسروں کو بھی) اللہ کی راہ سے روکا ہے ان کو ہم اس عذاب سے بڑھ کر ایک اور عذاب دیں گے کیونکہ وہ (ہمیشہ) فساد (کے کام) کرتے تھے۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

جن لوگوں نے خود کفر کی راہ اختیار کی اور دوسروں کو اللہ کی راہ سے روکا انہیں ہم عذاب پر عذاب دیں گے اُس فساد کے بدلے جو وہ دنیا میں برپا کرتے رہے

English - Sahih

Those who disbelieved and averted [others] from the way of Allah - We will increase them in punishment over [their] punishment for what corruption they were causing.

اردو ترجمہ احمد علی

جو لوگ منکر ہوئے اور الله کی راہ سے روکتے رہے ہم ان پر عذاب پر عذاب بڑھاتے جائیں گے بسبب اس کے کہ وہ فساد کرتے تھے

And those who disbelieved and hindered from (the) way (of) Allah, We will increase them (in) punishment over punishment because they used (to) spread corruption.

Those that disbelieve and bar from the way of God -- them We shall give increase of chastisement upon chastisement, for that they were doing corruption.

As for those who disbelieved and barred others from the way of Allah, We shall add further chastisement to their chastisement for all the mischief they did.
