وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ تِجَٰرَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا ٱنفَضُّوٓا۟ إِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَآئِمًا ۚ قُلْ مَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِّنَ ٱللَّهْوِ وَمِنَ ٱلتِّجَٰرَةِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلرَّٰزِقِينَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

But when they see some merchandise or some amusement, they break up for it, and leave thee standing. Say, ‘That which is with Allah is better than amusement and merchandise, and Allah is the Best Provider.’

English - Five Volume Translation

But when they see some merchandise or amusement, they break up for it, and leave thee standing. Say, ‘That which is with Allah is better than amusement and merchandise, and Allah is the Best Provider.’[4243]

Commentary:

It is apparent from v. 3, that the Surah, particularly deals with the time of the Promised Messiah whose advent has been referred to as the advent of the Holy Prophet himself. The verse under comment shows that in the Messiah’s time trade and commerce will engross people’s attention and they will have little time to give to God Whom they will consign to complete oblivion. To add to man’s forgetfulness of God, there will be all sorts of amusements, sports and pastimes to divert his attention from God. Muslims have been admonished in the verse not to neglect their spiritual well-being in the pursuit of material gains and sensuous pleasures.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور جب وہ کوئی تجارت یا دل بہلاوا دیکھیں گے تو اس کی طرف دوڑ پڑیں گے اور تجھے اکیلا کھڑا ہوا چھوڑ دیں گے۔ تو کہہ دے کہ جو اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ دل بہلاوے اور تجارت سے بہت بہتر ہے اور اللہ رزق عطا کرنے والوں میں سب سے بہتر ہے۔

French

Mais lorsqu’ils voient quelque commerce ou divertissement, ils s'y précipitent et te laissent debout seul. Dis : « Ce qui est avec Allāh vaut mieux que le divertissement et le commerce, et Allāh est le Meilleur des pourvoyeurs. »

German

Doch wenn sie eine Ware sehen oder ein Spiel, dann brechen sie sogleich dazu auf und lassen dich stehen. Sprich: "Was bei Allah ist, das ist besser als Spiel und Ware, und Allah ist der beste Versorger."

Ma quando vedono mercanzie o occasioni di divertimento, si disperdono e ti lasciano lì in piedi. Di': «Ciò che è presso Allah è meglio del divertimento e delle mercanzie. E Allah è il migliore dei Sostentatori.»

Spanish

Pero cuando ven alguna mercancía o una diversión, se dispersan en su busca y te dejan de pie. Diles: “Lo que está junto a Al-lah es mejor que la diversión y la mercancía, y Al-lah es el Mejor de los Aprovisionadores”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور جب یہ لوگ تجارت یا کھیل کی بات دیکھتے ہیں تو تجھ سے الگ ہو کر اس کی طرف چلے جاتے ہیں اور تجھ کو اکیلا چھوڑ دیتے ہیں۔ تو ان سے کہدے جو کچھ اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ کھیل کی بات بلکہ تجارت سے بھی اچھا [1]ہے اور اللہ بہتر رزق دینے والا ہے۔

اس آیت کے شروع میں بتایا گیا ہے کہ کئی دفعہ منافق تجارت اور لَہْو کے سبب سے رسول کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اکیلا چھوڑ کر چلے جاتے ہیں۔ لیکن آخر میں فرمایا ہے کہ جو کچھ اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ لَہْو بلکہ تجارت سے بھی اچھا ہے۔ گویا پہلے حصہ آیت میں تو تجارت کو پہلے رکھا اور لَہْو کو پیچھے۔ لیکن دوسرے حصہ آیت میں لَہْو کو پہلے رکھا اور تجارت کو بعد میں۔ اس کے متعلق یہ امر یاد رکھنا چاہیے کہ پہلی جگہ تجارت کو اس لئے پہلے رکھا گیا ہے کہ تجارت میں کچھ نہ کچھ فائدہ ہوتا ہے اور لَہْو میں کوئی جسمانی یا مالی فائدہ نہیں ہوتا۔ پس تجارت کو پہلے اور لَہْو کو پیچھ

اور جب انہوں نے تجارت اور کھیل تماشا ہوتے دیکھا تو اس کی طرف لپک گئے اور تمہیں کھڑا چھوڑ دیا ان سے کہو، جو کچھ اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ کھیل تماشے اور تجارت سے بہتر ہے اور اللہ سب سے بہتر رزق دینے والا ہے

English - Sahih

But when they saw a transaction or a diversion, [O Muhammad], they rushed to it and left you standing. Say, "What is with Allah is better than diversion and than a transaction, and Allah is the best of providers."

اور جب وہ لوگ تجارت یاتماشہ دیکھتے ہیں تو اس پر ٹوٹ پڑتے ہیں اور آپ کو کھڑا ہوا چھوڑ جاتے ہیں کہہ دو جو الله کے پاس ہے وہ تماشا اور تجارت سے کہیں بہتر ہے اور الله بہتر روزی دینے والا ہے
