57:13
English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ra
And think of the day when thou wilt see the believing men and the believing women, their light running before them and on their right hands, and it will be said to them, ‘Glad tidings for you this day! Gardens through which streams flow, wherein you will abide. That is the supreme triumph.’
English - Five Volume Translation
And think of the day when thou wilt see the believing men and the believing women, their light running before them and on their right hands,[b] and it will be said to them, ‘Glad tidings for you this day!—Gardens through which streams flow, wherein you will abide. That is the supreme triumph.’[4155]
66:9.
Commentary:
The words, "their light," mean the light of their faith and good actions which on the "day of distress and darkness", (i.e. for disbelievers) will lead believers to their goal. Thus their faith and good works will assume the form of light on the 'Day of Resurrection.' "Light" may also mean the light of Divine realization and the capacity to seek and achieve the pleasure of God in this very life. For "divine light" see 6:123.
English - Short Commentary Translation
