أَءُلْقِىَ ٱلذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنۢ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ

‘Has the Reminder been revealed to him alone of all of us? Nay, he is a boastful liar.’

38:9.

Important Words:

أشر (boastful) is act. part. from أشر (ashira) which means, he exulted and behaved insolently; he behaved with pride and self-conceitedness. أشر means, one who is insolent and behaves with pride and exults (Lane & Aqrab).

Commentary:

Conceit, false pride and arrogance are man’s greatest spiritual enemies. They constitute the hard hurdles that bar the way to the acceptance of truth. The Quran has repeatedly mentioned disbelievers as having rejected the Divine Message due to these moral ills. See 25:8; 38:9, 43:32.

38:9.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

کیا ہمارے درمیان سے ایک اسی پر ذکر اُتارا گیا؟ نہیں! بلکہ یہ تو سخت جھوٹا (اور) شیخی بگھارنے والا ہے؟

Le Rappel a-t-il été révélé à lui seul d’entre nous tous ? Non, mais c’est un grand menteur plein d’orgueil. »

German

Ist die Ermahnung ihm (allein) gegeben worden von uns allen? Nein, er ist ein prahlerischer Lügner."

[d]“难道在我们所有人中间, (惟独) 他奉到安拉的启示? 不, 他是一个厚颜无耻的说谎者。”

38:9.

Forse che il monito è stato rivelato soltanto a lui, tra tutti noi? No, è un bugiardo vanaglorioso.»

“¿Acaso el Recordatorio le ha sido revelado sólo a él entre todos nosotros? No, no es más que un embustero insolente”.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

کیا خدا کی وحی ہم میں سے (صرف) اس پر نازل کی گئی ہے؟ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ وہ سخت جھوٹا اور متکبر ہے۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

کیا ہمارے درمیان بس یہی ایک شخص تھا جس پر خدا کا ذکر نازل کیا گیا؟ نہیں، بلکہ یہ پرلے درجے کا جھوٹا اور بر خود غلط ہے"
