Surely, [b]those who have believed, and the Jews, and the Sabians, and the Christians—whoso believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good deeds, [c]on them shall come no fear, nor shall they grieve.[700]

Surely, [b]those who have believed, and the Jews, and the Sabians,[775] and the Christians—whoso believes in Allah and the Last Day and does good deeds, on them shall come [c]no fear, nor shall they grieve.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

یقیناً وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے اور جو یہودی ہوئے اور صابی اور نصرانی جو بھی اللہ پر ایمان لایا اور یومِ آخر پر اور نیک عمل بجا لایا اُن پر کوئی خوف نہیں اور وہ کوئی غم نہیں کریں گے۔

French

Assurément, ceux qui ont cru, et les Juifs, et les Sabéens, et les Chrétiens – ceux qui croient en Allāh et au Jour Dernier, et qui font de bonnes œuvres – ils n’ont rien à craindre et ne seront pas affligés.

German

Jene, die geglaubt haben, und die Juden und die Sabäer und die Christen – wer da an Allah glaubt und an den Jüngsten Tag und gute Werke tut –, keine Furcht soll über sie kommen, noch sollen sie trauern.

Certamente, coloro che hanno creduto, e gli ebrei, e i sabei, e i cristiani - chiunque creda in Allah e nell'Ultimo giorno e faccia opere buone, questi non avranno nulla da temere, né dovranno dolersi.

Spanish

En verdad, los que han creído a y los judíos, sabeos y cristianos –todos los que creen en Al-lah y en el Último Día y hacen buenas obras-, no les sobrecogerá el temor, ni serán afligidos.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

جو لوگ ایمان دار ہیں اور جو یہودی ہیں اور (نیز) صابی [1]اور نصاریٰ (ان میں سے) جو (بھی) اللہ (پر) اور پیچھے آنے والے دن پر حقیقتہً ایمان لائے ہیں اور نیز انہوں نے نیک عمل کیے ہیں نہ انہیں (آئندہ کا) کوئی خوف[2] ہوگا اور نہ وہ (گزشتہ پر) غمگین ہوں گے۔

اس جگہ جو صابی کا لفظ آیا ہے اس کے متعلق سوال پیدا ہوتا ہے کہ صابی کون تھے؟ سو یاد رکھنا چاہیے کہ عربوں کی روایات سے جو احادیث میں بھی درج ہیں ثابت ہے کہ عرب لوگ ہر اس شخص کو جو یہودی عیسائی نہ ہو لیکن اہل کتاب ہونے کا دعویٰ کرے صابی کہتے تھے۔ چنانچہ جب کوئی شخص مسلمان ہوتا تو مکہ کے لوگ کہتے تھے کہ یہ صابی ہو گیا ہے اور جب مکہ والوں میں سے کوئی شخص مسلمان ہوتا تو اس محاورہ کے مطابق وہ کہتا کہ میں صابی بنتا ہوں۔ تحقیق سے ایسا معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ یہ لوگ حَرّان سے تعلق رکھتے تھے۔ جو اُور مقام ابراہیم سے فلسطین کو جانے والے رستہ پر واقع ہے اور چونکہ یہ لوگ اپنے اندر ع

اس جگہ خوف اور حزن سے ’’حفاظت‘‘ ایمان کی علامت قرار دی گئی ہے۔ پس آیت کا یہ مفہوم نہیں کہ یہودی‘ عیسائی اور صابی مومن ہیں۔ بلکہ یہ مفہوم ہے کہ منہ کا ایمان کافی نہیں۔ یہ سب قومیں ایمان کا دعویٰ کرتی ہیں مگر اس کا کوئی ثبوت پیش نہیں کرتیں کہ خداتعالیٰ نے بھی ان کے ایمان کو قبول کر لیا ہے۔ خداتعالیٰ کے قبول کر لینے کی علامت یہ ہے کہ وہ سچے مومنوں کو نہ تو آئندہ خوف کا شکار بناتا ہے نہ سابق کوتاہیوں کے بدنتائج کا شکار کرتا ہے۔ پس جسے یہ علامت حاصل ہوگی وہ ایمان دار ہوگا اور جسے نہ ہوگی وہ منہ سے ایمان کا دعوے دار کہلائے گا۔ خداتعالیٰ کے نزدیک ایمان دار نہ ہوگا۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

(یقین جانو کہ یہاں اجارہ کسی کا بھی نہیں ہے) مسلمان ہو ں یا یہودی، صابی ہو ں یا عیسائی، جو بھی اللہ اور روز آخر پر ایمان لائے گا اور نیک عمل کرے گا بے شک اس کے لیے نہ کسی خوف کا مقام ہے نہ رنج کا

English - Sahih

Indeed, those who have believed [in Prophet Muhammad] and those [before Him] who were Jews or Sabeans or Christians - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve.

بے شک جو مسلمان ہیں اور جو یہودی ہیں اور صائبی اور نصاریٰ جو کوئی الله اور قیامت پر ایمان لایا اور نیک کام کیے تو ان پر کوئی خوف نہیں ہوگا اور نہ وہ غمگین ہوں گے

Surely they that believe, and those of Jewry, and the Sabaeans, and those Christians, whosoever believes in God and the Last Day, and works righteousness -- no fear shall be on them, neither shall they sorrow.

(Know well, none has an exclusive claim to the Truth.) For all those who believe in Allah and in the Last Day and do good deeds - be they either believers, Jews, Sabaeans or Christians - neither fear shall fall upon them, nor shall they have any reason to grieve.
