وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَّ أَيْدِيَهُمْ عَنكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ عَنْهُم بِبَطْنِ مَكَّةَ مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَنْ أَظْفَرَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And He it is Who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Mecca, after He had given you victory over them. And Allah sees all that you do.

English - Five Volume Translation

And He it is Who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Mecca, after He had given you victory over them. And Allah sees all that you do.[3834]

Commentary:

The words "after He had given you victory over them," may signify that in view of the circumstances in which the Muslims were then placed and of the far-reaching results it produced, the Treaty of Hudaibiyyah was tantamount to a great victory. The words may also refer to the victories that God had granted to Muslims before they came to Hudaibiyyah—the victory at Badr, the safe return of Muslims and the Holy Prophet to Medina from Uhud after they had been placed in a very dangerous and delicate situation, and the complete frustration of the Meccans in their evil designs to destroy Islam in the Battle of the Ditch when they were repulsed with severe loss, etc. In a sense these were all victories of believers over disbelievers.

English - Short Commentary Translation

And He it is Who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them in the Valley of Mecca, after He had given you victory over them.[2780] And Allah sees all that you do.

In view of the circumstances in which the Muslims were then placed and of the far-reaching results it produced, the Treaty of Hudaibiyah was, indeed, a great victory. The words may also refer to the victories that God had granted to Muslims before they came to Hudaibiyah—the victory at Badr, the safe return from Uhud to Medina of Muslims and the Holy Prophet, after they had been placed in a very dangerous and delicate situation, and the complete frustration of the Meccans in their evil designs to destroy Islam in the Battle of the Trench when they were repulsed with severe loss, etc. In a sense these were all victories of believers over disbelievers.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اور وہی ہے جس نے اُن کے ہاتھ تم سے اور تمہارے ہاتھ اُن سے وادیء مکہ میں روک دیئے تھے، بعد اس کے کہ اس نے تمہیں ان پر کامیابی عطا کی۔ اور اللہ ، جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو ، اُس پر گہری نظر رکھتا ہے۔

Et c’est Lui Qui a retenu leurs mains de vous, et Qui a retenu vos mains d’eux, dans la vallée de la Mecque, après vous avoir accordé la victoire sur eux. Et Allāh voit bien tout ce que vous faites.

German

Und Er ist es, Der ihre Hände von euch abhielt und eure Hände von ihnen in dem Tale von Mekka, nachdem Er euch Sieg über sie gegeben. Und Allah sieht alles, was ihr tut.

Chinese

就是他, 使你们在战胜了他们之后,[1269]在麦加山谷内制止他们攻击你们, (也) 制止你们攻击他们。安拉是观察你们的一切行为的。

鉴于穆斯林那时的处境和赫戴比亚条约所产生的深远影响, 这个条约确是一大胜利。这里还指穆斯林到赫戴比亚之前安拉恩赐给他们的多次胜利--------在白德尔的胜利; 穆圣和穆斯林遭到十分危急的处境之后从吴候德安全回麦地那和他们遭到严重损失之后在壕沟战役中彻底挫败阴谋消灭伊斯兰教的麦加人, 等等。在某种意义上说, 这些都是信仰者对不信仰者的胜利。

È Lui che trattenne le loro mani da voi e le vostre mani da loro, nella valle della Mecca, dopo avervi concesso la vittoria su di loro. E Allah vede tutto quello che fate.

Spanish

Él es Quien apartó sus manos de vosotros y vuestras manos de ellos en el valle de la Meca, después de concederos la victoria sobre ellos. Pues Al-lah ve todo lo que hacéis.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور وہ خدا ہی ہے جس نے ان کے ہاتھوں کو تم سے اور تمہارے ہاتھوں کو ان سے مکہ کی وادی میں روک دیا‘ بعد اس کے کہ تم (حالات کے مطابق) ان پر فتح پا چکے تھے اور اللہ تمہارے اعمال کو دیکھ رہا تھا (اور جانتا تھا کہ تم لڑنے سے نہیں ڈرتے)۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

وہی ہے جس نے مکہ کی وادی میں اُن کے ہاتھ تم سے اور تمہارے ہاتھ اُن سے روک دیے، حالانکہ وہ اُن پر تمہیں غلبہ عطا کر چکا تھا اور جو کچھ تم کر رہے تھے اللہ اسے دیکھ رہا تھا

English - Sahih

And it is He who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them within [the area of] Makkah after He caused you to overcome them. And ever is Allah of what you do, Seeing.

اوروہی ہے جس نے وادی مکہ میں ان کے ہاتھ تم سے اور تمہارے ہاتھ ان سے روک دیے اس کے بعد اس نے تمہیں ان پر غالب کر دیا تھا اور الله ان سب باتوں کو جو تم کر رہے تھے دیکھ رہا تھا

And He (is) the One Who withheld their hands from you and your hands from them within Makkah, after that He gave you victory over them. And is Allah of what you do All-Seer.

English - Arberry

It is He who restrained their hands from you, and your hands from them, in the hollow of Mecca, after that He made you victors over them. God sees the things you do.

English - Maududi

He it is Who restrained their hands from you, and your hands from them in the valley of Makkah, even though He had made you victorious against them. Allah was watching all that you did.

It was He who restrained their hands from you in the heart of Makkah, and your hands from them, after He had given you victory over them, as God sees all that you do.
