فَهَلْ عَسَيْتُمْ إِن تَوَلَّيْتُمْ أَن تُفْسِدُوا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَتُقَطِّعُوٓا۟ أَرْحَامَكُمْ

Would you then, if you are placed in authority, create disorder in the land and sever your ties of kinship?

Would you then, if you are placed in authority, create disorder in the land and sever your ties of kinship?[3807]

Commentary:

The verse signifies that believers have been allowed to fight because if the power of disbelievers had not been broken, they would have created disorder in the land and would have severed all ties of kinship and trampled underfoot all rightful claims. The verse also signifies that if believers refused to fight the disbelievers now, Arabia would continue to suffer from disruption and disintegration and forces of evil would stalk the land.

English - Short Commentary Translation

Would you not then, if you are placed in authority, create disorder in the land and sever your ties of kinship?[2754]

Muslims were allowed to fight, because if the power of disbelievers had not been broken they would have created disorder in the land and have severed all ties of kinship and trampled under foot all rightful claims.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

کیا تمہارے لئے ممکن ہے کہ اگر تم متولّی ہو جاؤ تو تم زمین میں فساد کرتے پھرو اور اپنے رِحمی رشتوں کو کاٹ دو ؟ (ہرگز نہیں)۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

پس کیا یہ امر قریب[1] نہیں کہ اگر تم پیٹھ پھیر لو تو (پھر بھی) زمین میں فساد کرنے کا موجب ہو جاؤ۔ اور رشتوں کو کاٹ دو۔

یعنی کیا تم لوگ دیکھتے نہیں کہ اسلامی جنگیں فساد پیدا نہیں کرتیں۔ بلکہ اگر یہ جنگیں نہ کی جائیں‘ اور مظلوموں کی حفاظت نہ کی جائے تو فساد پیدا ہوتا ہے۔ پس مومن ایسی اعلیٰ حکمت والی جنگوں سے گھبرا ہی نہیں سکتا۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اب کیا تم لوگوں سے اِس کے سوا کچھ اور توقع کی جا سکتی ہے کہ اگر تم الٹے منہ پھر گئے تو زمین میں پھر فساد برپا کرو گے اور آپس میں ایک دوسرے کے گلے کاٹو گے؟
