وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلْنَا مِنكُم مَّلَٰٓئِكَةً فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ يَخْلُفُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And if We so willed, We could make from among you angels in the earth to be successors therein.

And if We so willed, [b]We could make from among you angels in the earth to be successors therein.[3680]

17:96; 25:22-23.

Commentary:

The verse means to say that God could, if He had so willed, send down angels on earth who would have conveyed the Divine Message, but angels could not serve as an example and model for men, therefore, God had always commissioned men to convey His will to, and to serve as model and pattern for, men.

And if We so willed, We could make from among you angels to be your successors in the earth.[2684]

اور اگر ہم چاہتے تو تمہی میں سے فرشتے بناتے جو زمین میں قائم مقامی کرتے۔

Mas si lo hubiésemos querido, habríamos creado de entre vosotros ángeles en la tierra para ser los sucesores en ella.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور اگر ہم چاہتے[3] تو تم میں سے بھی بعض کو ملائکہ بنا دیتے جو زمین میں تمہاری جگہ آباد ہوتے۔

یعنی مسیحؑ پر فرشتے اُترے کیونکہ وہ روحانی طور پر فرشتہ بن گیا تھا۔ اگر محمد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے زمانہ کے لوگ یا آپ کے بعد کے لوگ بھی مسیحؑ جیسے بن جاتے ہیں تو ان پر بھی فرشتے اترنے لگ جاتے اس میں کوئی تعجب کی بات نہیں۔ موجودہ مسلمان محض ہٹ دھرمی سے اِس اِمکان کے منکر ہیں۔

ہم چاہیں تو تم سے فرشتے پیدا کر دیں جو زمین میں تمہارے جانشین ہوں

And if We willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth.
