وَأَخْذِهِمُ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ وَقَدْ نُهُوا۟ عَنْهُ وَأَكْلِهِمْ أَمْوَٰلَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِٱلْبَٰطِلِ ۚ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَٰفِرِينَ مِنْهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

And because of their taking interest, although they had been forbidden it, and because of their devouring people’s wealth wrongfully. And We have prepared for those of them who disbelieve a painful punishment.

And because of [b]their taking interest, although they had been forbidden it, and because of [c]their devouring people’s wealth wrongfully. And We have prepared for those of them who disbelieve a painful punishment.[625]

9:34.

Commentary:

The Jews were forbidden to lend money on interest to other Jews, but they were permitted to take interest from non-Jews (Exod. 22:25; Lev. 25:36, 37; Deut. 23:19, 20). But they broke the Law and began to exact interest even from Jews (Neh. 5:7). Later they promised Nehemiah to give up taking interest from Jews (Neh. 5:12). But they again broke their word; and so, in accordance with the prophecy of Ezekiel (Ezek. 18:13), they suffered national death and were scattered over the earth to suffer persecution at the hands of their enemies.

اور اُن کے سُود لینے کی وجہ سے حالانکہ وہ اس سے روک دیئے گئے تھے اور لوگوں کے اموال ناجائز طریق پر کھانے کی وجہ سے (اُن کو یہ سزا دی)۔ اور ان میں سے جو کافر تھے اُن کے لئے ہم نے بہت دردناک عذاب تیار کر رکھا ہے۔

Et parce qu’ils prennent de l’intérêt, bien que cela leur eût été interdit, et du fait qu’ils dévoraient illégalement les biens d’autrui. Et Nous avons préparé pour ceux d’entre eux qui sont mécréants un châtiment douloureux.

und weil sie Zins nahmen, obgleich es ihnen untersagt war, und weil sie das Gut der Leute widerrechtlich aufzehrten. Wir haben den Ungläubigen unter ihnen eine schmerzliche Strafe bereitet.

他们不顾禁令, 仍然[c]吃利息和[d]非法侵吞别人的财物 (也是其受惩的因素之一,) 我已为他们的不信者安排了痛苦的惩戒。

Italian

E perché prestano ad interesse, sebbene sia stato loro proibito, e perché divorano ingiustamente le ricchezze degli altri. E Noi abbiamo preparato per coloro che non credono un doloroso castigo.

Spanish

Y por cobrar intereses, aunque se les había prohibido, y por devorar injustamente los bienes de las gentes. Pero para los incrédulos hemos preparado un doloroso castigo.

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

اور ان کے سودی کاروبار کرنے کی وجہ سے بھی حالانکہ اس سے ان کو روکا[2] گیا تھا (نیز) لوگوں کے اموال کو ان کے ناحق کھانے کے سبب سے (ان کو یہ سزا ملی) اور ہم نے ان میں سے کافرں کے لئے دردناک عذاب تیار کیا ہے۔

خروج باب۲۲۔ آیت۲۵‘ اور احبار باب۲۵۔ آیت۳۶‘۳۷ میں یہودیوں سے سود لینا ممنوع قرار دیا گیا ہے۔ لیکن استثنا باب۲۳۔ آیت۲۰ میں یہود کے علاوہ دوسرے لوگوں سے بنی اسرائیل کو سود لینے کی اجازت دی گئی ہے۔ درحقیقت یہ ایک تحریف ہے جو قرآن کریم کی رو سے یہودیوں نے اپنے تجارتی کاروبار کے لئے بائیبل میں کی ہے۔ ورنہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے انہیں ہر قسم کے سودی کاروبار سے منع کیا ہوا تھا۔ پس جو کچھ بائیبل میں لکھا ہے‘ وہ یہودی تحریف کا نتیجہ ہے۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

اور سود لیتے ہیں جس سے انہیں منع کیا گیا تھا، اور لوگوں کے مال ناجائز طریقوں سے کھاتے ہیں، ہم نے بہت سی وہ پاک چیزیں ان پر حرام کر دیں جو پہلے ان کے لیے حلال تھیں، اور جو لوگ اِن میں سے کافر ہیں ان کے لیے ہم نے درد ناک عذاب تیار کر رکھا ہے

English - Sahih

And [for] their taking of usury while they had been forbidden from it, and their consuming of the people's wealth unjustly. And we have prepared for the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.

اور ان کو سود لینے کے سبب سے حالانکہ اس سے منع کیے گئے تھے اور اس سبب سے کہ لوگو ں کا مال ناحق کھاتے تھے اور ان میں سے جو کافر ہیں ہم نے ان کے لیے دردناک عذاب تیار کر رکھا ہے
