Set your face to God, turning to Him in repentance, and fear Him, and observe Prayer, and be not of those who associate partners with God—[3012]

English - Short Commentary Translation

So you all turn to Him, in repentance, and seek His protection and observe Prayer,[2285] and be not of those who associate partners with Allah—

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

ہمیشہ اُس کی طرف جھکتے ہوئے (چلو) اور اُس کا تقویٰ اختیار کرو اور نماز کو قائم کرو اور مشرکوں میں سے نہ ہو۔

French

Tournez votre visage vers Allāh, vous tournant vers Lui avec repentir, et craignez-Le, et observez la Prière, et ne soyez pas du nombre des associateurs –

German

Zu Ihm euch wendend, und fürchtet Ihn und verrichtet das Gebet und seid nicht unter den Götzendienern,

你们要归向安拉, (采纳本性的宗教), 寻求他的保护, 固守拜功, 不要成为设立与安拉同等崇拜对象的人--------

Disponete il vostro volto a Dio, volgendovi a Lui pentiti, e temeteLo e osservate la preghiera, e non siate di quelli che associano altri a Dio,

Levantad vuestro rostro hacia Dios, volviendo a Él con arrepentimiento, temedle y cumplid la Oración, y no seáis de aquellos que asocian partícipes a Dios

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

(پس) تم سب اس (خدا) کی طرف جھکتے ہوئے دین فطرت اختیار کرو۔ اور اس کا تقویٰ اختیار کرو اور نماز کو اس کی شرائط کے ساتھ ادا کرو اور مشرکوں میں سے مت بنو۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

(قائم ہو جاؤ اِس بات پر) اللہ کی طرف رجوع کرتے ہوئے، اور ڈرو اُس سے، اور نماز قائم کرو، اور نہ ہو جاؤ اُن مشرکین میں سے

Commentary:

The verse means to say that mere belief in the Almightiness and Oneness of God, though it forms the basic principle of true religion, is not enough. A true religion has certain ordinances and commandments also. Of these commandments the top priority goes to Prayer, which must be duly observed. A true religion also teaches that fear lest one should incur the displeasure of God, must govern all our actions.
