لَهُمْ فِيهَا زَفِيرٌ وَهُمْ فِيهَا لَا يَسْمَعُونَ

English - Hazrat Molavi Sher Ali ^ra

Therein, groaning will be their lot and they will not hear therein anything else.

11:107; 25:13; 67:8.

Commentary:

The words وھم فیھا لا یسمعون besides the meaning given in the text may also mean, they will not hear anything that will give solace and comfort to them; and (2) there will be so much crying and shrieking and wailing in Hell that its inmates will not hear each other’s voice.

If "the fire of Hell" referred to in the preceding two verses may mean the fire of disgrace and humiliation in this world, then the words "they will not hear" would mean that they (the disbelievers) would not listen to the voice of God’s Messengers.

They will not hear anything that will give them solace and comfort; or there will be so much crying and shrieking and wailing in Hell that its inmates will not hear each other’s voice.

اردو ترجمہ مرزا طاہر احمد خلیفة المسیح الرابعؒ

اس کے اندر اُن کے مقدّر میں چیخ و پکار ہوگی اور وہ اس میں (کچھ) نہ سن سکیں گے۔

اردو تفسیرِ صغیر

وہ اس میں چیخیں گے اور وہ اس میں (سمجھانے والوں میں [1]سے کسی کی) بات نہیں سنیں گے۔

یعنی اس وقت ایمان لانا کوئی نفع نہ دے گا۔

اردو ترجمہ مودودی

وہاں وہ پھنکارے ماریں گے اور حال یہ ہو گا کہ اس میں کان پڑی آواز نہ سنائی دے گی

For them therein is heavy sighing, and they therein will not hear.

ان کے لیے دوزخ میں چیخیں ہو ں گی اوروہ اس میں کچھ نہیں سنیں گے
